BPD Screening (McLean Screener)
10 MSI-BPD questions + 5-question anxiety assessment · 4–5 minutes · Instant results
About This Assessment
This assessment uses the McLean Screening Instrument for BPD (MSI-BPD) — a validated 10-item yes/no questionnaire developed at McLean Hospital and widely used as a first-stage clinical screener for borderline personality disorder in adults.
BPD is characterised by emotional instability, impulsivity, unstable relationships, identity disturbance, and an intense fear of abandonment. It is significantly under-diagnosed, particularly in women, and frequently co-occurs with anxiety and depression.
An independent anxiety assessment follows the BPD questions. The fear response is a central driver of BPD symptoms — addressing it directly is one of the most effective approaches available.
