Charles Linden Institute Research Methodology Statement
A formal statement of the clinical population, outcome measurement instruments, ethical principles, and transparency standards governing the Institute's published research.
1. The Clinical Population
The Charles Linden Institute's research draws on clinical observation and outcomes data collected across thirty years of applied practice in the delivery of Threat Recalibration Therapy. The clinical population encompasses individuals presenting with all major anxiety disorder presentations across all severity levels, all age groups from childhood through late adulthood, and all cultural and demographic contexts across 42 countries.
2. Outcome Measurement
The primary outcome measure used in the Institute's clinical evaluation research is the Generalised Anxiety Disorder 7-item scale — the GAD-7 — as specified by NICE for the assessment of anxiety disorder severity in primary care settings. The GAD-7 is a validated, widely used self-report instrument with established sensitivity and specificity for detecting GAD and documented validity as a measure of anxiety severity across disorder presentations (Spitzer et al., 2006).
3. The NHS-Partnered Clinical Evaluation
The Institute's primary published clinical evaluation was conducted in partnership with NHS Shropshire. The evaluation recorded the following outcomes:
Full evaluation documentation is available on request from research@charleslinden.institute.
