The Clinical Evidence.
Irrefutable.
An independent academically reviewed trial — conducted through NHS Shropshire and analysed at the University of Copenhagen — confirms that The Linden Method produces a highly statistically significant reduction in anxiety condition symptoms across all major diagnostic categories.
The Efficacy of The Linden Method in Eliminating Anxiety Symptoms
Martin Jensen — Kingston University / University of Copenhagen · Commissioned through NHS Shropshire
The Linden Method is a structured programme for the treatment of anxiety conditions including GAD, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, OCD, PTSD, and anxiety-related low mood. The present study investigated its efficacy in a cohort of clients who had followed the programme as directed, using the internationally validated GAD-7 scale.
Study Design & Participant Selection
Participants were selected on the basis that they had complied with the programme as directed — mirroring the methodology applied in pharmaceutical drug trials. Of 100 invitations, 61 agreed to take part.
Internationally validated anxiety scale (Spitzer et al., 2006)
Wilcoxon signed-rank test for non-parametric ordinal data
Retrospective self-report at both pre- and post-treatment stages
Highly Significant Reduction in Anxiety Severity
The mean pre- and post-treatment GAD-7 scores for participants were 18.28 and 2.84 respectively. This indicates that a large proportion of participants entered the programme with severe anxiety — the highest category on the GAD-7 scale. Post-treatment results demonstrate that, for the overwhelming majority of participants, anxiety no longer presented as a significant issue in day-to-day life.
A Wilcoxon signed-rank test confirmed that adhering to The Linden Method programme resulted in a highly statistically significant change in self-reported anxiety distress when pre- and post-treatment levels were compared, with the post-treatment group reporting substantially fewer anxiety symptoms (Z = −6.802, p < .001).

"Participants, many of whom reported severe anxiety symptoms pre-treatment, improved significantly using The Linden Method programme for anxiety elimination."
— Martin Jensen, Kingston University / University of Copenhagen
What the Evidence Means
The results indicate a fundamental shift in anxiety baseline — not suppression or management. A post-treatment mean of 2.84 places the average participant well within "minimal anxiety," below the clinical threshold of 5. Data were collected retrospectively using programme-compliant participants — standard methodology, directly comparable to pharmaceutical efficacy trials.
